Kathy is currently directing and shooting Tales of the Waria, a feature-length documentary film on a remarkable transgender community in Indonesia known as the waria. The film follows three transgender individuals as they search for love, intimacy, and acceptance in the world’s most populated Muslim country. Shot with the assistance of the waria themselves, the film provides unprecedented access into a fascinating and rarely documented subculture.
